MAC Versus PC Models Of Notebooks

This is now a decade’s old debate: Mac vs. PC Models of note books, which one is better? Both systems are used and liked by their respective users. Many times you will hear stories that when PC users convert to MAC they totally fall in love with it and regret using PC for so long. Everyone has their own opinion but to be honest both MAC and PC models of notebooks are neck to neck in competition. Both have pros and cons when it comes to which is better MAC or PC.

Comparing MAC Versus PC Models of Notebooks

When it comes to MAC vs. PC models of notebooks the first striking comparison is the price. Yes MAC systems are relatively expensive compared to their PC counterparts, but if you step back for a minute and do the math you will actually realize that there is not much of a difference. Yes the upfront cost of MAC is higher but the system is so sound and safe that it will hardly need any repair. It comes loaded with various useful software so no more spending in that area, while many PC models do need more software that most consumers require and regular upgrades are typical as well.

MAC notebooks also have a very good resale value whereas PC notebooks don’t have a good resale value. Like cars, most PC laptops start to lose value as soon as they are purchased. If you look at the customer satisfaction ratio, MAC has a higher percentage of satisfied users than PC.

When it comes to variety in color, shape, styles the PC notebooks have an upper hand. Also several brands of PC notebooks come with some additional features like touch screen, TV tuners, and Blu-ray players. Mac on the other hand lacks these types of features. For some this lack of variety is actually the class and elegance Apple is known for. The Mac machines are considered classy and chic while on the other hand the PC notebooks are common and average.

The PC notebooks have a Windows Operating system and MAC uses the MAC OSx. The operating systems for both are efficient and provide excellent computing results. However, when you compare the number of programs, PC is slightly better. A large variety of software and applications are available for PC. They don’t cost much and are easily available. The MAC programs are a little costly but the programs already available in the MAC notebooks are far superior to any PC program. Another perk of the MAC OSx is that it is not as prone to virus attacks as Windows operating systems.

It’s also important to mention that you can run any Windows program you want on a MAC computer, which is not true in reverse.

So as you see the battle of MAC vs. PC Models of notebooks is never ending. Both are widely used and loved and both have pros and cons. It the end it all comes to personal preferences. It is a fact that most Apple product users are fiercely loyal to Apple, as can be seen with iPhones, iPods and iPads and so the same goes for Macbooks.
